c. Fair Employment Practices.
<br /> (1) In the performance of this Agreement, Kainos agrees to not
<br /> discriminate against any employee or applicant for
<br /> employment because of race, religion, color, national origin,
<br /> ancestry, sex, age, physical or mental disability, marital status,
<br /> sexual preference, or political affiliation. Kainos agrees to take
<br /> affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and
<br /> that employees are treated during employment, without regard
<br /> to their race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, age,
<br /> physical or mental disability, marital status, sexual preference,
<br /> or political affiliation. Such action shall include, but not be
<br /> limited to the following: employment, upgrading, demotion or
<br /> transfers; recruitment or recruitment advertising; layoff or
<br /> termination; rates of pay or other forms of compensation; and
<br /> selection for training, including apprenticeship. Kainos agrees
<br /> to post in conspicuous places, available to employees and
<br /> applicants for employment, notices to be provided by the City
<br /> of Redwood City setting forth the terms of this Fair
<br /> Employment Practices provision.
<br /> (2) Kainos agrees to permit access to its records of employment,
<br /> employment advertisements, application forms, and other
<br /> pertinent data and records by the State Fair Employment
<br /> Practices Commission, or any other agency of the State of
<br /> California designated by the awarding authority, for the
<br /> purposes of investigation to ascertain compliance with the Fair
<br /> Employment Practices provisions of this Agreement.
<br /> 7. INTEREST OF PUBLIC OFFICIALS
<br /> No members, officers, employees, or agents of the City of
<br /> Redwood City, no member of the City Council and no other public official
<br /> who exercises any function or responsibility with respect to this Agreement
<br /> or Kainos' operation of its program during his or her tenure, or for one year
<br /> thereafter, shall have any interest, direct or indirect, in this Agreement or a
<br /> related subcontract, or the proceeds thereof. Kainos shall incorporate in
<br /> all subcontracts hereunder a provision prohibiting such interest.
<br /> 8. RELIGIOUS ACTIVITY PROHIBITED
<br /> There shall be no religious worship, instruction, or proselytizing as
<br /> part of, or in connection with, the performance of this Agreement.
