Implementation of New General Plan policies and programs and adherence to BAAQMD guidelines to minimize the effects of construction activities that generate dust and particles will ensure that this impact will be less than significant. 4.5 Cultural Resources • Impact 4.5-1: Growth projected to occur with new allowable development under the New General Plan could cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of historical resources in the plan area due to damage or demolition of historic resources. Implementation of New General Plan policies and programs designed to minimize the adverse effects of new development on, and preserve, historic resources, and requirements to conduct project-specific environmental review for future development projects,will ensure that this impact will be less than significant. 4.6 Geology and Soils • Impact 4.6-2: The plan area is subject to a number of geologic and soils- related hazards, including soil erosion, expansive soils, slope stability, differential settlement, and subsidence that would affect future development allowed under the New General Plan. Implementation of New General Plan policies and programs designed to minimize geology and soils-related risks and hazards associated with new development, and requirements for project-specific environmental review for future development projects, would effectively reduce these potential impacts to less-than-significant level.. 4.7 Hazards and Hazardous Materials • Impact 4.7-1: Development allowed by the New General Plan would allow for the use, storage, generation, and disposal of hazardous materials, which could lead to the unauthorized release of hazardous materials or exposure of sensitive receptors to harmful emissions.
