7.A <br /> Attagr <br /> RESOLUTION NO, <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY ADOPTING THE NEW GENERAL PLAN <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to the requirements of California Government Code <br /> Section 65300 et seq., the City of Redwood City has prepared and proposes to adopt a <br /> new general plan for the physical development of the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, on September 7, 2010, following a duly-noticed public hearing, the <br /> Planning Commission of the City of Redwood City adopted a resolution recommending <br /> to the City Council that the City Council approve the Redwood City Draft General Plan <br /> dated November 23, 2009 (hereafter, the "New General Plan"), which is on file and <br /> available for public review at the Office of the City Clerk and is hereby incorporated <br /> herein by this reference, as the new general plan for the City of Redwood City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Planning Commission's <br /> recommendation to approve the proposed New General Plan, and also reviewed the <br /> proposed New General Plan and all environmental documents and supporting studies <br /> and reports necessary for approval of the proposed New General Plan; and has <br /> considered the foregoing at a duly-noticed public hearing on October 11, 2010; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> A. The City Council finds as follows: <br /> 1. The proposed New General Plan establishes appropriate goals, <br /> objectives, policies and programs to address such issues as land use; housing; <br /> economic development; community design, neighborhoods and districts; transportation <br /> and circulation facilities and infrastructure; public facilities, services and infrastructure; <br /> parks, recreation and open space facilities and waterways; health and safety; youth and <br /> elderly services and facilities; education and community services and facilities; and <br /> natural, cultural and historical resources. <br /> 2. The proposed New General Plan has been prepared in conformity <br /> with the provisions of State law requirements, including the requirements of California <br /> Government Code Section 65300 et seq., and the requirements of the City of Redwood <br /> City Municipal Code. <br /> 3. The City Council has reviewed and considered the Final <br /> Environmental Impact Report for the New General Plan for Redwood City (the "Final <br /> EIR"), and has certified the Final EIR as in compliance with all applicable requirements <br /> of the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA"). <br /> ATTY/RESO/RESO.2056 <br /> 10/6110 <br />
