In addition, several policies and programs in the New General Plan are designed to facilitate the repair, maintenance, upgrading, and associated funding for, such facilities. For all of these reasons, this impact is expected to be less than significant. • Impact 4.15 -5: Development allowed by the New General Plan is expected to generate an increased demand for wastewater treatment services, however, the City is currently allocated sufficient wastewater treatment capacity in the SBSA system to meet the anticipated increase in demands, therefore this impact is expected to be less than significant. • Impact 4.15 -6: Development allowed by the New General Plan could result in increased solid waste generation over existing levels, however, the anticipated increase is not expected to require additional landfill capacity and pursuant to the New General Plan, the City would comply with pertinent regulations regarding solid waste. As a result, this impact is expected to be less than significant. 4.16 Greenhouse Gas Emissions • Impact 4.16 -1: Although the amount and distribution of allowable development under the New General Plan has the potential to increase population and economic activity within the plan area, thereby potentially resulting in an increased level of GHG emissions, a number of factors within and external to the New General Plan indicate that development allowable under the New General Plan would result in lower GHG emissions per capita relative to existing conditions. As a result, this impact is expected to be less than significant. 4.17 Energy • Impact 4.17 -1: New growth and development within the plan area allowed by the New General Plan could result in the use of substantial amounts of electricity and natural gas. However, the New General Plan contains many policies and programs designed to conserve and improve the efficient use of electricity and natural gas, the implementation of which is expected to ensure that new development does not result in wasteful fuel or energy use. As a result, this impact is expected to be less than significant. • Impact 4.17 -2: New growth and development allowed by the New General Plan would increase the demand on natural gas and electricity. However, this increase has been anticipated by the City's electricity and natural gas provider, and as result, this impact is expected to be less than significant.
