He referred to and read a letter <br />from his attorney, Randy Daar directed to the editor of the Redwood City Daily News <br />in response to the letter written by Council Member Hartnett. <br />Lupita Escobedo summarized a letter she wrote to City Manager Everett stating she <br />was baffled by the statement made in a newspaper stating, "the record speaks for <br />itself'. She stated that the numbers mentioned do not speak of a death in custody. <br />She restated the family's efforts to obtain information from the Council and that the <br />family has not received any records to date. She stated that the City should be of <br />assistance and that she would send a copy of the letter to Council via e-mail. <br />Mayor Claire stated that the Council has no jurisdiction over the matter and that the <br />District Attorney is investigating and would make a determination on next steps. <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR — CITY COUNCIUREDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br />Items on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine by the City <br />Council /Redevelopment Agency and will be enacted by one motion and one vote. <br />There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Council Member, Agency <br />Board Member, staff member or citizen so requests, in which event the item will be <br />removed from the Consent Calendar and considered in its normal sequence on the <br />agenda. <br />M/S Hartnett/Ruskin to waive reading of the Consent Calendar except the ordinances <br />by title, adopt the resolutions and the ordinances, and approve other items.
