INTRODUCTION OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLES II AND III OF CHAPTER 1 <br />OF THE REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL CODE PROVIDING FOR <br />ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ENFORCEMENT; MINUTE ORDER 03-61 <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION 14514 SETTING FORTH THE SCHEDULE OF <br />ADMINISTRATIVE CITATION FINES AND OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE PENALTIES FOR <br />VIOLATIONS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY MUNICIPAL CODE <br />Council Member Howard stated that in 1999, the City Council adopted a <br />comprehensive administrative code enforcement policy based on San Jose's <br />which enables staff to administer citations. Over the next several years, the policy <br />was studied and observed and this ordinance is the outcome of the policy and <br />strengthening of the code. <br />6.3 Section - Claims and Warrants <br />A. Reduction of City Contract Obligation to provide housing assistance to City <br />Attorney <br />Council Member Jordan asked for an explanation of the implications of this item. <br />Vice Mayor Ira stated that as part of his employment package, the City Attorney <br />was offered a $600,000.00 loan at 5% interest and the recommendation is to <br />reduce the amount to $400,000.00. The loan would be available in a combination <br />of either a loan or some type of equity share with the City. He further stated that <br />the City of San Mateo just hired a City Attorney and the same arrangement was <br />offered in the amount of $500,000.00.
