�. ► ej <br />The City of Redwood City <br />FLEXIBLE BENEFIT PLAN <br />SECTION I — INTRODUCTION <br />1.1 Purpose of the Plan <br />The purpose of the Plan is to provide the Employees of the City of Redwood City (the <br />"City") a choice between cash and Qualified Benefits under the Flexible Benefit Plan <br />(the "Plan") established by the City pursuant to the requirements of Sections 125 and <br />129 of the Internal Revenue Code (the "Code "), as applicable. <br />1.2 Plan Status <br />This is intended to qualify as a Plan described under Section 125 and Section 129 of the <br />Code. It is to be interpreted in a manner consistent with the requirements of these <br />sections of the Code and their applicable regulations. <br />SECTION II — DEFINITIONS <br />2.1 Administrator <br />The City or such other person or committee as may be appointed from time to time by <br />the City to supervise the administration of the Plan. <br />2.2 Affiliated Organization <br />Any organization which is affiliated with the City of Redwood City and has adopted the <br />Plan. <br />2.3 Benefit Plan Contribution <br />The amount of compensation which a Participant elects to forego pursuant to a Salary <br />Reduction Agreement and which the City contributes to the Plan for the purchase of <br />Qualified Benefits for the Participant pursuant to Section 125. <br />2.4 Code <br />The Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended from time to time. Reference to any <br />section or subsection of the Code, including reference to any comparable or succeeding <br />provisions of any legislation which amends, supplemer..s or replaces such section or <br />subsection. <br />
