69.1.E -q <br />2.21 Salary Reduction Contribution <br />The amount of compensation which a Participant elects to forego pursuant to a Salary <br />Reduction Agreement and which the City allocates to fund the Participant's elected <br />benefits under the Plan <br />A pronoun or adjective in the masculine gender includes the feminine gender, and the singular <br />includes the plural, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. <br />SECTION III - PARTICIPATION <br />3.1 Eligibility <br />Each Employee whose customary employment, excluding overtime, is projected to be at <br />least 20 hours per week will be eligible to participate in the Premium Contribution <br />portion of the Plan upon becoming an Employee. Each Employee whose customary <br />employment, excluding overtime, is projected to be at least 20 hours per week will be <br />eligible to participate in the Dependent Care Assistance portion of the Plan upon <br />becoming an Employee. Each Employee whose customary employment, excluding <br />overtime, is projected to be at least 20 hours per week will be eligible to participate in <br />the Medical Expense Reimbursement portion of the Plan upon becoming an Employee. <br />An Employee will become a Participant on the first of the month following date of hire <br />upon meeting the above eligibility requirements. For these purposes, an Employee's <br />customary employment shall not be considered to be interrupted in the case of sick <br />leave, military leave or any other leave of absence approved under normal leave policies <br />of the City. <br />3.2 Cessation of Participation <br />A Participant will cease to be a Participant as of the earlier of (a) the date on which the <br />Plan terminates, or (b) the date on which he ceases to be eligible to participate under <br />Section 3.1 and revokes his election to participate, or (c) the date on which he ceases to <br />make contributions under the Plan or is deemed to cease making contributions by virtue <br />of termination of employment with the City. In the event that a Participant terminates his <br />employment during the Plan Year, the Participant will be entitled to receive the benefits <br />under the Plan for which he is entitled under the terms of the Plan, but must apply for <br />those benefits no later than 90 days following his termination of participation in the <br />Plan. <br />3.3 Reinstatement of Former Participant <br />A former Participant will become a Participant again if and when the Participant meets <br />the eligibility requirements of Section 3.1. <br />
