8.A -6 <br />2. Explore City's goals related to affordable housing <br />a. Use resources of organizations currently providing housing services to <br />Redwood City residents to help in identifying other solutions. <br />b. Initiate a Housing Summit involving the Council, Planning Commission, <br />Housing and Human Concerns Committee, Chamber of Commerce, <br />CEO's and other stakeholders to explore needs of persons who live <br />and/or work in Redwood City and identify programs which would create <br />homeownership opportunities for moderate income persons. <br />C. Analyze infill opportunities between 101 and El Camino Real and El <br />Camino Real to Hudson Streets for possible new construction <br />opportunities. <br />3. Strive for housing diversity and balance which does not divide residents by <br />culture, economics, or geographic location <br />4. Develop short-term goals to achieve balance, and develop long term goals to <br />evaluate projects developed by City. <br />Redwood City's goal with respect to housing, recognizes the City's limitations with regard to: <br />• funding available for new construction, <br />• land acquisition costs, <br />• relocation costs related to infill developments, <br />• available land for development, <br />• the diversity of our community with regard to income and housing type needed. <br />
