asked the City Manager for clarification. City Manager Everett stated that after <br />research, it was determined that the City does not need a permit. After talking with <br />and reading the article to Mr. Dennis Baldwin of the State Department of Fish and <br />Game, Mr. Everett described his tone as incensed with the inaccuracies in the <br />article. Mr. Baldwin stated that he had been quoted completely out of context and <br />had made generic and hypothetical remarks that were not in any way related to the <br />Redwood City project. <br />C. Council Member Howard — stated that on Saturday, May 3, the Pride and <br />Beautification Committee had the Spring Cleaning that focused on the Stambaugh - <br />Heller neighborhood and the sloughs and waterways. She stated that <br />approximately 200 people participated and at least half of the volunteers were <br />youth. The groups represented included Young Latino Leaders, Carlmont <br />students, and the Juventus Soccer Club coaches, parents and players. The <br />Juventus Soccer Club members stated that they were present to thank Redwood <br />City for building fields for their games. <br />D. Council Member Pierce — stated that the last week in April, she attended the <br />Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) conference on water and land use <br />with Council Member Ruskin and Tom Passanisi. The focus was on the links <br />between building, land use and water. Representatives from throughout the Bay <br />Area were present with sharing of information from various jurisdictions on <br />conservation and recycled water. <br />10. ADJOURNMENT — 8:15 P.M. <br />M/S Ira /Hartnett to adjourn until the next City Council meeting of May 12, 2003 in <br />memory of Ronald L. Bonincontri, husband of Economic Development Coordinator Pat <br />Webb, who passed away on May 4, 2003.
