�� <br />OWN <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />LATERAL FIRE FIGHTER <br />TRANSFER PROGRAM <br />Requirements <br />To qualify for the transfer program, an individual would be required to possess or have <br />successfully completed: <br />• Two years of current full -time firefighting service. <br />• A valid Emergency Medical Technician certificate or Advanced Life Support <br />Paramedic license. <br />• Certificate of completion from a Fire Academy that meets the California State <br />Fire Training curriculum for "Firefighter P'. <br />• Possession of a California State Fire Training Firefighter I certificate. <br />In addition, an individual would need to successfully pass: <br />• The physical evaluation, psychological evaluation, and extensive background <br />investigation. <br />• The in -house oral board. <br />Carry Over Benefits <br />Individuals hired as a qualified lateral Firefighter will be eligible for: <br />Up to 200 hours of sick leave. Not eligible for sick leave cash out program until <br />completion of probation. <br />Salaries may be set above first step depending on qualifications with Council <br />approval. <br />Equitable accrual rate of vacation to match years of service. <br />Effective: June 2, 2003 <br />
