. ` REG:yc:3 /21/60-7 <br /> EXHIBIT "A" <br /> O R D I N A N C E N O. <br /> ORDINANCE ADDING SECTIONS 20.8, 21.8 AND 23.6 TO ORD- <br /> INANCE NO. 600, THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING ORDINANCE, <br /> PROVIDING FOR A LIMITATION UPON THE TIME IN WHICH <br /> APPLICATIONS FOR VARIANCES, APPLICATIONS FOR USE PER- <br /> MITS AND PETITIONS FOR AMENDMENTS MAY BE RECONSIDERED <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. Section 20.8 is hereby added to Ordinance No. 600, <br /> entitled "An Ordinance of the City of Redwood City, California, <br /> Adopting a Zoning or Districting Plan for said City by Establishing <br /> Various Districts in said City Within Which Certain Regulations <br /> Shall be in Effect, Relating to the Uses of Land and Buildings; <br /> Height Limits of Buildings and Yards and Other Open Spaces About <br /> Buildings; Requiring that Certain Permits Shall be Secured for <br /> Certain of Such Buildings and Uses; Defining Certain Terms Used <br /> Herein; and Specifying the Procedure for the Amendment and Pre- <br /> scribing Penalties for the Violation, of any of the Provisions <br /> Herein; Repealing all Other Ordinances or Parts of Ordinances in <br /> Conflict Therewith," adopted March 22, 1948, to read as follows: <br /> "SECTION 20.8. Successive Applications. No application <br /> for a variance shall be considered within one (1) year after <br /> final action taken in connection with a denial of a previous <br /> application relating to the same subject matter. <br /> "Applications shall be deemed to relate to the same sub - <br /> ject matter if both of the following factors exist: (a) any <br /> portion of the parcel of land affected by the former applica- <br /> tion is included in the later application and (b) the nature <br /> of the variance to be applied for is substantially similar to <br /> the variance applied for in the former application. <br /> "The date of final action shall be the date upon which <br /> the denial of the former application was determined on appeal <br /> or the expiration of the time in which an appeal from a denial <br /> could have been filed. <br />
