vt <br /> 410 411 <br /> to be derived from the imposition of such local sales and use <br /> taxation if, as, and when approved by the majority of the <br /> electorate voting on such issue at the next general municipal <br /> election; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. If, as and when a majority of the voters <br /> voting on such measure approve the imposition of local sales <br /> and use taxation in the City of Redwood City, the Council of <br /> the City of Redwood City shall by ordinance enact a tax on the <br /> sale and use of tangible personal property in the City of <br /> Redwood City equal to one percent (1 %) of the retail sales <br /> price thereof. Such ordinance or ordinances shall terminate <br /> fifteen (15) years following the adoption thereof or at such <br /> time as the County of San Mateo shall impose a uniform county- <br /> wide system of sales and use taxation in the County of San Mateo, <br /> whichever shall first occur. <br /> SECTION 2. If a majority of the voters voting on such <br /> measure approve the imposition of local sales and use taxation <br /> in the City of Redwood City at the general municipal election <br /> in the City of Redwood City, April, 1960, it is hereby stated <br /> and represented to be the desire and intention of the Council <br /> of the City of Redwood City to allocate and appropriate from <br /> year to year all the revenues produced from such taxation as <br /> follows: <br /> (a) Eighty -five percent (85%) of such revenues for <br /> capital expenditures and /or bond redemption to accomplish <br /> the abovementioned capital improvements and betterments <br /> set forth as Measures (A) through (I) inclusive on the <br /> - 2 - <br />
