(.ID -� <br />AGREEMENT OF COOPERATION ( "AGREEMENT ") BETWEEN THE <br />BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE LELAND STANFORD JUNIOR <br />UNIVERSITY THROUGH ITS JOHN W. GARDNER CENTER FOR <br />YOUTH AND THEIR COMMUNITIES at STANFORD UNIVERSITY, <br />(hereinafter referred to as "STANFORD" or "the GARDNER <br />CENTER "), and REDWOOD CITY 2020 through its fiscal agent CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY, a charter city and municipal corporation of the <br />State of California. <br />WITNESSETH <br />WHEREAS, REDWOOD CITY 2020 was created by agreement entered into by <br />and between the SAN MATEO COUNTY ( "County"), the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />( "City "), the REDWOOD CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT ( "Elementary School <br />District'), and the SEQUOIA UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT ( "High School District ") <br />for the purpose of providing oversight to multiple collaborative programs designed to <br />improve the health and quality of life in Redwood City and to provide a forum for <br />collaborative needs assessment and community planning on the National Civic League <br />Healthy Communities Model; and <br />WHEREAS, the GARDNER CENTER is a Stanford -based center housed at the <br />School of Education and was established to build new practices, knowledge and <br />capacity for youth development and learning by bridging research and practice, <br />supporting communities to act, and sharing what works; and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable that the GARDNER CENTER and <br />REDWOOD CITY 2020 (hereinafter mutually referred to as "the Parties ") enter into this <br />AGREEMENT to build new practices, knowledge, and capacity for community youth <br />development in communities. <br />F:Atty /Agr /Agr.123 <br />052903 <br />
