<br /> projects and is a qualified contractor. Based on the bids received, staff believes that the
<br /> low bid is reasonable and recommends awarding the contract to CF Contracting.
<br /> ALTERNATIVES
<br /> Council may choose not to award the contract for pove Beeger and Westwood Parics
<br /> Play Area Renovation Project and direct staff to reject bids, redesign the project and
<br /> repeat the public bidding process, or not to perform the project.
<br /> FISCAL IMPACT
<br /> Funds for this project have previously been approved and appropriated in the fiscal year
<br /> 2011/11budget as Capital Projects Fund — Play Equipment Replacement Program
<br /> which has an available balance of $717,182.65 as of October 31, 20'[ 0.
<br /> ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
<br /> As the lead agency, City of Redwood City has determined that the Dove Beeger and
<br /> Westwood Parks Play Area Renovation Project meets the CEQA exemption criteria as
<br /> set forth in Section 153Q2, ("Replacement or Reconstruction"). Furthermore, this project
<br /> has been designed compliant with the city's Engineering Standards and accepted
<br /> landscape architectural practices.
