• • <br /> 856 Contractor shall reject: liquids or sludge; dirt, rock, concrete or asphalt; materials <br /> 857 which exceed five (5) feet in length; commercial -sized refrigerators or freezers; <br /> 858 Construction and Demolition Debris; Hazardous Waste; or Infectious Waste. <br /> 859 Contractor may reject any individual item that weighs more than two - hundred (200) <br /> 860 pounds (excluding Major Appliances) unless Customer has paid, or has agreed in <br /> 861 advance to pay, an additional fee for service. Contractor may reject un- <br /> 862 containerized Discarded Materials with the exception of Major Appliances, Bulky <br /> 863 Items, E -Scrap and large pieces of Organic Material such as tree limbs and <br /> 864 dimensional lumber. <br /> 865 C. Recycling and Reuse. Contractor shall Collect materials in a manner that <br /> 866 maximizes reuse, Recycling, composting, and diversion of materials from Disposal. <br /> 867 Contractor shall make reasonable efforts to ensure that diversion goals are met or <br /> 868 exceeded. Disposal of materials shall be the Contractor's last option. At a <br /> 869 minimum, Contractor shall divert from Disposal: cardboard, E- Scrap, useable <br /> 870 furniture, Major Appliances, mattresses, Organic Materials, wood waste, and other <br /> 871 reusable or Recyclable Materials. <br /> 872 D. Handling Major Appliances. Major Appliances, Universal Waste, and E -Scrap <br /> 873 shall be reused, Recycled or Disposed by Contractor in accordance with <br /> 874 requirements of Applicable Law and in accordance with the State of California <br /> 875 Department of Toxic Substances Control and California Integrated Waste <br /> 876 Management Board regulations. Any changes to such regulations made after the <br /> 877 Effective Date shall be addressed as though they are a Change in Law in <br /> 878 accordance with Section 11.05. <br /> 879 E. Collection and Processing Methods. <br /> 880 A Route Supervisor will visit each On -Call Bulky Item Collection location on the <br /> 881 morning of the scheduled Collection Day to evaluate the material being placed at <br /> 882 Curbside for Collection, and to verify that its Collection has been assigned to the <br /> 883 proper Collection vehicle. All materials that can be handled by the SFD Single - <br /> 884 Stream Recycling, Organic Materials, or Solid Waste route Collection vehicle would <br /> 885 be assigned to one of these vehicles for Collection, with the goal of maximizing <br /> 886 diversion. All Collection of Bulky Items will be assigned for Collection by a flatbed <br /> 887 truck, and the driver will segregate items Collected according to their suitability for: <br /> 888 (1) reuse or Recycling, and (2) Disposal, prior to their transport to the SRDC for <br /> 889 processing. Any remaining items will be Collected by a dispatched rear - loader truck. <br /> 890 Contractor shall utilize these procedures and vehicles in a manner that provides the <br /> 891 maximum diversion of the material Collected from the On -Call Bulky Item Collection <br /> 892 Service event. <br /> 893 5.06 AGENCY FACILITY ANNUAL ON -CALL BULKY ITEM COLLECTION SERVICE <br /> 894 Contractor shall provide all Agency Facilities an Annual On -Call Bulky Item <br /> 895 Collection service event. The On -Call Bulky Item Collection Service provisions set <br /> 896 forth in Section 5.05 shall apply to the On -Call Bulky Item Collection Service <br /> 897 provided to Agency Facilities with the following exceptions for frequency and <br /> 898 service level /acceptable materials. <br /> 899 A. Frequency of Service. <br /> 900 Contractor shall provide this service to each Agency Facility annually. <br /> 901 B.
