01/10/2011 <br /> education, experience, certifications, personal fitness and other <br /> criteria as may be reasonably related to the position. <br /> 7.2.2 Salary Increase on Promotion to Fire Captain <br /> A Fire Fighter /Engineer who is receiving paramedic pay is eligible <br /> for a promotional adjustment that ensures at least a 5% increase <br /> above the highest classification they are to supervise, even if that <br /> places him /her between salary steps. <br /> 7.2.3 Merit Increases <br /> A probationary Fire Fighter /Engineer or Fire Captain may be eligible <br /> for a salary increase to the next higher step above the initial step or <br /> rate to which appointment was made after a six (6) month period. <br /> With continued satisfactory performance, an employee in the <br /> classification of Fire Fighter /Engineer or Fire Captain may be eligible <br /> for a salary increase at twelve -month intervals between steps to the <br /> maximum top step upon consideration of such employee's <br /> performance of duties, experience, education, personal fitness for <br /> the position, and other criteria reasonably related to awarding <br /> increased compensation on the basis of merit. Adjustments shall <br /> be made at the recommendation of the Fire Chief and approved by <br /> the City Manager. <br /> The status quo shall be maintained regarding the payment of FLSA overtime. The City <br /> shall also maintain the status quo on the payment of regular overtime as prescribed in <br /> Section 7.6 of the current MOU. <br /> 7.3 Work Schedule <br /> The regular workweek for employees in the classification of Fire <br /> Fighter /Engineer and Fire Captain shall be fifty-six (56) hours on existing work <br /> schedules. The work schedule shall consist of eight (8) twenty -four (24) hour <br /> on -duty periods within a twenty -four (24) day cycle to be worked in accordance <br /> with the following chart: <br /> X = 24 hour on -duty period <br /> 0 = 24 hour off -duty period <br /> X0X0X0x0000X0X0X0XOOOOOO <br /> 7.4 Starting Time <br /> The regular starting time for Fire Fighter /Engineers and Fire Captains scheduled <br /> for a fifty-six (56) hour workweek shall be 8:00 A.M. <br /> 11 <br /> Page 17 #15077 <br /> MUFF # 905 <br />
