01/10/2011 <br /> 7,5 Overtime <br /> 7.5.1 Fifty -six (56) Hour Workweek Employees <br /> Overtime for employees in the classifications of Fire <br /> Fighter /Engineer and Fire Captain is authorized time worked beyond <br /> the regular scheduled workweek in Section 7.3. Overtime shall be <br /> compensated at one and one -half (1 -1/2) times the employee's <br /> regular rate of pay for any time worked beyond a Fire <br /> Fighter /Engineer or Fire Captain's regular twenty -four (24) hour <br /> work shift. Regular rate of pay shall be defined as the hourly rate <br /> of pay based on a 56 hour work week (112 hours per pay period). <br /> Payment for overtime shall not be made unless such overtime has <br /> been authorized by the Fire Chief, or designated representative, <br /> prior to such overtime being worked. <br /> 7.5.2 Compensatory Time <br /> Upon request, employees shall be compensated for such overtime in <br /> compensatory time off. An employee's compensatory time off <br /> balance shall not exceed seventy -two (72) hours at any given time. <br /> 7.5.3 Hire Back Procedures <br /> The Hire Back procedures will be included in the Operations Manual, <br /> as amended effective May 1, 2002. Any changes to the Hire Back <br /> procedures will be by meet and confer. <br /> 7.6 Paramedic Pay <br /> 1) Paramedic Premium Pay for paramedics — 10% of Base Pay effective upon <br /> date of hire or effective the first payroll period following submittal of <br /> qualifying paperwork and approval of Fire Chief. <br /> 2) Paramedic Assistance Pay for all other Fire Fighter /Engineers including Fire <br /> Captains: 2.5% of Base Pay effective the first payroll period following <br /> assignment to suppression (56 -hour schedule). <br /> 3) FF /P's receiving Paramedic Pay will also receive 2% Paramedic Assistance <br /> Pay effective December 20, 2010. FF /P's appointed after December 20, <br /> 2010, shall receive 2% Paramedic Assistance Pay effective the first payroll <br /> period following assignment to suppression (56 -hour schedule). <br /> 4) Paramedic Pay will be added to base pay, regardless of position on <br /> apparatus or if on scheduled or non - scheduled hours. <br /> 5) Paramedic Pay will only be paid to FF /P's functioning in department <br /> approved Paramedic positions. <br /> 12 <br /> Page18 #15077 <br /> MUFF # 905 <br />
