01/10/2011 <br /> Effective January 1, 1988, the Educational Incentive shall be considered wages <br /> for the purposes of computing overtime, holiday pay, and PERS retirement <br /> benefits. <br /> It is understood that in no case will the same employee receive both <br /> Educational and Service Incentive benefits. <br /> It is also understood that in no case will the same employee receive both <br /> Educational Incentive pay (under MOU Section 7.12) and EMT Incentive pay <br /> (under MOU Section 7.12.1). <br /> All qualifying college credits must have been earned at or accepted by an <br /> accredited California school, college or university, in the field of Fire Science or <br /> related subjects leading to an A.S. or A.A. Degree in Fire Science. <br /> A. Employees who maintain a current satisfactory performance <br /> evaluation and who have completed two (2) years or more of <br /> service and fifteen (15) college credits, twelve (12) of must be in <br /> Fire Science and three (3) in Related Electives, including Emergency <br /> Medical Training, will receive two and one -half percent (2 -1/2 %) <br /> additional pay. <br /> B. Employees who maintain a current satisfactory performance <br /> evaluation and who have completed five (5) years or more of <br /> service and have thirty (30) college credits, twenty -four (24) of <br /> which must be in Fire Science and six (6) in Related Electives, <br /> including Emergency Medical Training, will receive two and one -half <br /> percent (2 -1/2 %) additional pay for a total of five percent (5 %). <br /> C. Employees who maintain a current satisfactory performance <br /> evaluation and who have completed ten (10) years or more of <br /> service and have sixty (60) college credits, twenty -four (24) of <br /> which must be in Fire Science, including Emergency Medical <br /> Training, will receive two and one -half percent (2 -1/2 %) additional <br /> pay for a total of seven and one -half percent (7- 1/2 %). <br /> Official transcripts of study must be received by the Human Resources Director <br /> in order for Educational Incentive Pay to be granted for the first payroll period <br /> following submission of the transcripts. Study, however, may be verified by a <br /> document signed by the teacher of the course pending receipt of an official <br /> transcript covering the course. <br /> Service as defined in this section shall be any full -time employment by the <br /> Redwood City Fire Department, and /or up to five (5) years of full -time year - <br /> round employment by a recognized California Fire Department, or other <br /> comparable agency as determined by Redwood City Fire Department <br /> Administration. <br /> 16 <br /> Page 22 #15077 <br /> MUFF # 905 <br />
