Protect Schedule
V &A is prepared to meet the scheduling requirements as described in the Scope of Work as best as
possible given the current proposal time constraints. With the proposals due on December 1, 2010, and
allowing for some time for the City to make a selection and issue a Notice - To-Proceed (NTP), it is unlikely
that the flow meters can be installed by December 8, 2010 as listed in the RFP. V&A commits to the
following schedule milestones:
Site Reconnaissance of metering sites: Within 3 business days of NTP
Documentation of Field Reconnaissance: Within 3 business days of site reconnaissance
All meters and rain gauge installed and operating: Within 6 business days of City approval of Field
Reconnaissance Documentation
First data batch reported to City: Within 10 days following meters /rain gauge
installation:
Meters Removed: 60 days after installation
Final Report: Within 3 weeks of completion of flow monitoring
Proposed Hours and Cost
The hours and costs are shown in a table which immediately follows the detailed scope of work for the
subject services.
Scope of Work
The following is our detailed scope of work for the project services. This scope of work was developed as
a result of our review of the request for proposal and represents our mutual understanding.
T Description
1. Field Reconnaissance and Document Review: V&A will review available plans and documents, and
conduct field reconnaissance of the proposed flow monitoring sites identified by the City. The purpose
of the reconnaissance will be to assess hydraulic conditions, manhole access, traffic control
requirements, and safety issues for each site. Any modifications to the proposed meter sites will be
submitted to the City for review and approval by the City. Deliverable: Documentation of site
reconnaissance and final flow monitoring sites will be submitted to the City within 3 days of conducting
the Site Reconnaissance. V&A will conduct Site Reconnaissance within 3 days of receiving a Notice To
Proceed from the City.
2. Installation 1 Calibration / Maintenance / Removal of Flow Monitors: V&A will install 7 flow
meters and one rain gauge for a period of 60 days per the schedule listed above, with an option to
extend the monitoring on a weekly basis up to one additional month. The flow meters will be area -
velocity type capable of measuring flows and flow depths under surcharge conditions. The
conveyance to be measured will be shaped or irregularly shaped creeks and streams, trapezoidal and
otherwise. Pipe diameters may range from approximately 12 to 78 inches. Rain gauges will be
tipping bucket type capable of recording to 0.01 inches. The flow monitoring locations are listed as
follows:
1. Basin H: Fifth Avenue and E. Bayshore Road — manhole
10 -0614 Storm Page 4 of 8
