8.0 <br /> ExhiQ� 75 <br /> housing units and approximately 7,823,959 million square feet of new non- <br /> residential development in the City's sphere of influence. This cumulative <br /> development would result in continued infiil and an increased density and <br /> intensity of development throughout the city. Due to the Cargill Saltworks <br /> project land use compatibility impacts with the nearby Port and conflicts with <br /> the Bay Plan, associated cumulative impacts related to land use <br /> compatibility impacts and conflicts with land use plans may be potentially <br /> significant. However, the DPP would preserve and enhance compatibility <br /> among land uses within the DPP area and with adjacent land uses surrounding <br /> the DPP area; would not conflict with any applicable land use plan, policy or <br /> regulation adopted for the purpose of avoiding or mitigating an environmental <br /> effect; and therefore would not contribute significantly to cumulative land use <br /> impacts and would not be cumulatively considerahle. Cumulative impacts <br /> related to land use and planning would be less than significant. <br /> Impact 17b. Aesthetics and Visual Resonrces. The DPP would not obstruct <br /> scenic vistas and would have an overall beneficial effect on the visual <br /> character of the Downtown and the city as a whole over eaisting conditions <br /> and existing zoning. Therefore, the contribution of the DPP to significant <br /> cumulative aesthetic and visual resource impacts would not be cumulatively <br /> considerable and thus would be less than significant. <br /> Impact 17c. Cumulative Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Facilities <br /> Impacts. The projected cumulative development totals would result in a <br /> cumulative increase in calls for police, fire and emergency medical service <br /> and a need for additional staffing and equipment, and possibly new or <br /> expanded facilities, to continue to nneet the City's response time goals. No <br /> facilities expansions or new faciiities have been identified at this time. The <br /> construction of new or expanded facilities could cause environmental impacts; <br /> however, the location, timing, nature, extent and severity of any potential <br /> environmental impacts are too speculative to predict or evaluate at this time. <br /> Therefore, the contribution of the DPP to significant cumulative impacts on <br /> police, fire and emergency medical facilities would be less than significant. <br /> Impact 17d. Cumulative Parks and Recreational Facilities Impacts. New <br /> residents, employees and visitors in Redwood City associated with the <br /> projected cumulative development totals would generate an additional demand <br /> for new and existing parks and recreational facilities. The construction of new <br /> or expanded facilities could cause environmental impacts; however, the <br /> locatian, timing, nature, extent and severity of any potential environmental <br /> impacts are too speculative to predict or evaluate at this time. Therefore, the <br /> contribution of the DPP to significant cumulative impacts on parks and <br /> recreational facilities would be less than significant. <br /> Impact 17e. Cumulative School Facilities Impacts.
