6.3D <br /> Page 3 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY'S FY <br /> 2010 -2012 BUDGET; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br /> OFFER AN EXIT INCENTIVE PROGRAM TO UNREPRESENTED <br /> EMPLOYEES. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted the 2010 -2012 budget of the City of <br /> Redwood City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended to the City Council that it <br /> eliminate and /or reduce the budgeted positions listed below in the interest of economy; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager has also recommended that he be authorized to <br /> offer an exit incentive program to unrepresented employees in order to help offset the <br /> impacts associated with layoff due to restructuring and budget reductions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council desires to accept the recommendations and to <br /> order the abolishment/reduction of the budgeted positions; and authorize the City <br /> Manager to offer an exit incentive program for unrepresented employees. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. The severe decline in City revenues has resulted in the need to make <br /> reductions in budgeted positions. <br /> 2. The City Council of the City of Redwood City determines that in the <br /> interest of economy that it is necessary and therefore orders the reduction <br /> of the following budgeted positions: <br /> a. Deputy City Manager — one position (1.0 FTE) <br /> b. Administrative Assistant (1.0 FTE) <br /> c. Public Works Supervisor (1.0 FTE) <br /> d. Equipment Service Worker (1.0 FTE) <br /> 3. The City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to carry out the <br /> City Council's order reducing the positions designated above. <br /> 4. In order to help offset the impacts associated with layoff due to <br /> restructuring and budget reductions, the City Manager is authorized to <br /> offer an exit incentive program to unrepresented employees whose <br /> positions are being eliminated and also to unrepresented employees to <br /> S:ATTWRESO.2099 DCM BUDGET CUT AND EIP <br /> 020211 <br />
