6.3D Page 3 RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY'S FY 2010 -2012 BUDGET; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO OFFER AN EXIT INCENTIVE PROGRAM TO UNREPRESENTED EMPLOYEES. WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted the 2010 -2012 budget of the City of Redwood City; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended to the City Council that it eliminate and /or reduce the budgeted positions listed below in the interest of economy; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has also recommended that he be authorized to offer an exit incentive program to unrepresented employees in order to help offset the impacts associated with layoff due to restructuring and budget reductions; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to accept the recommendations and to order the abolishment/reduction of the budgeted positions; and authorize the City Manager to offer an exit incentive program for unrepresented employees. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: 1. The severe decline in City revenues has resulted in the need to make reductions in budgeted positions. 2. The City Council of the City of Redwood City determines that in the interest of economy that it is necessary and therefore orders the reduction of the following budgeted positions: a. Deputy City Manager — one position (1.0 FTE) b. Administrative Assistant (1.0 FTE) c. Public Works Supervisor (1.0 FTE) d. Equipment Service Worker (1.0 FTE) 3. The City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to carry out the City Council's order reducing the positions designated above. 4. In order to help offset the impacts associated with layoff due to restructuring and budget reductions, the City Manager is authorized to offer an exit incentive program to unrepresented employees whose positions are being eliminated and also to unrepresented employees to S:ATTWRESO.2099 DCM BUDGET CUT AND EIP 020211
