• <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> GRANT AGREEMENT <br /> IMMIGRANTS DAY FESTIVAL 2011 <br /> THIS GRANT AGREEMENT is made and entered into this 8 day of <br /> ..�� . , 2011, by and between the REDWOOD CITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, <br /> a ublic body, corporate and politic ( "Grantor "), and the SAN MATEO COUNTY <br /> HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION ( "Grantee ") (collectively, the "Parties "), with reference to the <br /> following facts: <br /> RECITALS <br /> A. Grantor is a public entity organized in accordance with the Community <br /> Redevelopment Law as contained in California Health and Safety Code Sections 33000, <br /> et. seq. Pursuant thereto, Grantor is authorized to undertake and support projects within <br /> designated areas of the City of Redwood City ( "City ") which foster the elimination of <br /> blighted conditions and encourage the economic well -being of such areas. <br /> B. Grantee is sponsoring "Celebration of the Peninsula's Diversity: Immigrants <br /> Day Festival," an event that celebrates the various ethnic communities on the peninsula <br /> scheduled May 15, 2011 on Redwood City's Courthouse Square. <br /> C. Grantee has requested financial assistance in the form of a $7,500 grant to <br /> assist with the Immigrants Day Festival for the rental of chairs, stage, craft materials, <br /> food, performa'hce fees, advertisements, and publicity as is more particularly described in <br /> Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. <br /> D. Immigrants Day Festival is an event that celebrates San Mateo County's <br /> history and attracts Bay Area residents of all age groups to downtown Redwood City. <br /> E. Grantee has sought, and upon the terms and conditions described herein, <br /> Grantor is willing to provide funding for certain costs associated with the event. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, Grantor and Grantee hereby agree as follows: <br /> 1. Grant and Use of Funds. Grantor agrees to provide a grant to Grantee in <br /> an amount not to exceed Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($7,500.00). Account <br /> 807 -66429 shall be used to reimburse the Grantee. Grantee shall submit copies of <br /> invoices including receipts to Grantor for payment on a reimbursement basis. Such funds <br /> will be used fully and exclusively for the activities and expenses detailed in Exhibit "B," for <br /> the Immigration Day Festival event described in Exhibit "A ", both exhibits are attached <br /> hereto and incorporated herein by this reference."
