Tom Brady
Roberta Carcione
The entire cost of the Day is $34,050 (see enclosed budget). Major corporations Herm Christensen
will be asked $10,000 to sponsor the event. Both the Agency and corporate Shawn DeLuna
sponsors have assisted with contributions since we launched Immigrants Day five umang Gupta
years ago. Smaller donations from local businesses and individuals will be used to
make up the balance of the budget. The Agency will be credited in all our John Inglis
promotional materials, including banners, fliers and ads. Doug Keyston
Gene Mullin
As you know, our San Mateo County History Museum is under the umbrella of the Bob Oyster
San Mateo County Historical Association which operates the 40,000 square foot Barbara Rucker
facility within the Old San Mateo County Courthouse. In addition the Association Patrick Ryan
operates the Sanchez Adobe of Pacifica and the Woodside Store at Tripp and Kings Cynthia L. Schreurs
Mountain Roads. The Association's annual budget is $1.2 million of which less Paul Shepherd
than 15% is provided by the County. We raise and earn the rest of the revenues Mitch Postel
needed for our museum and historic sites. President
President's
Advisory Board
Leading citizens of the Peninsula formed the Association in 1935. Our Museum
was housed at the College of San Mateo until 1998, when we moved it to Redwood Al Acena, Ph.D.
City. Since that time, $20 million have been spent on improvements on this Arthur H. Bredenbeck
museum block with major government support from FEMA, the State of California, Frank Baldanzi
San Mateo County, and, of course, the Redwood City Redevelopment Agency. John Clinton
About $10 million of the $20 million came in the form of private contributions. Robert M. Desky
T. Jack Foster, Jr.
Among our recent (2006) improvements at the History Museum is the installation Georgi LaBerge
of a permanent exhibit gallery dedicated to the immigrant experience on the Greg Munks
Peninsula. This $1 million portion of the museum is engaging, educational, and John Schrup
highly interactive. This subject is of great interest to the people of San Mateo Tom Siebel
County and their visitors. Most people realize that an estimated 30% of the people
of the County today have been born in another country. Far fewer realize that back
