71 C -2 <br />Alternatives <br />1. The City Council could choose not to authorize the execution of the letter permit. The selection <br />of this alternative would end a leng- standing tradition in Redwood City. <br />Fiscal Impact <br />Based on expenditures for the 2002 celebration and the event plans for 2003, the total projected cost <br />to the city will be approximately $44,500. Police overtime for traffic and crowd control, is projected at <br />$31,600, Public Works costs for barricade rental and overtime are projected at $9,400, and Fire <br />Department Overtime is projected at $3,500. Police overtime costs are budgeted and absorbed by <br />Redevelopment, and both Public Works and the Fire Department have traditionally absorbed their <br />respective costs within their own budgets. <br />Attachment <br />1.
