Box 478 <br />Redwood City, CA 94063 <br />Dear Honorable Council Members: <br />The Peninsula Celebration Association wishes to make a formal request to conduct our Annual <br />Independence Day activities in Downtown Redwood City on Friday July 4, and Saturday July 5, <br />2003. The following is a summary of the planned events: <br />1. The Parks & Recreation Department will hold their annual 'Fun Run' footrace on July 4`" along <br />the parade route. Registration will be from 7:30am to 8:45am. The race will begin at 9:15 am. <br />2. The Annual Independence Day Parade will start at 10:30 AM on July 4 at Brewster and <br />Arguello. <br />3. The Arts & Crafts Fair and Festival hours of operation will be 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday <br />July 4 and 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday July 5 <br />4. Fireworks display will be held on July 4 at the Port of Redwood City (launched from a barge) <br />starting at approximately 9:30 PM. The Port requires and will issue a separate operational permit <br />related to the fireworks <br />Detailed maps that indicate areas to be used in downtown are attached. <br />No street venders of any kind are to be permitted to operate along the Parade Route - or within <br />the Festival boundaries except those approved by the PICA. <br />MEMBER: PARADE SPONSORS' A950CIA N OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA INC. <br />(An organization formed for the Duroose of oresentino better carades) <br />
