4 <br /> 8. This resolution shall be effective upon its adoption. <br /> Except as specifically provided to the contrary in the amendments <br /> and enactments herein, the provisions hereof shall be operative <br /> upon the adoption hereof; provided, however, that the provisions <br /> of the second sentence of the third paragraph of Section 4 of <br /> Rule :V'a as amended in paragraph 1 hereof relating to the non- <br /> applicability of the uniform allowance to certain officers <br /> assigned to the investigation division of the Police Department, <br /> and the provisions of the second sentence of the third paragraph <br /> of Section 2 of Rule XII as amended in paragraph 4 hereof relating <br /> to the payment of overtime compensation of Fire Department <br /> personnel required to work an unscheduled 24 hour shift shall <br /> be operative on and after the effective date of that certain <br /> ordinance entitled "An Ordinance Establishing Salaries for <br /> Employees of the City of Redwood City; and, Repealing Ordinance <br /> No. 1445." <br /> -6- <br />
