1.13 ORDER OF WORK <br /> A. Contractor shall submit a project schedule prior to start of work. The schedule shall indicate the order of <br /> work and the time period required in each area. <br /> 1.14 MARKINGS ON SIDEWALKS <br /> A. Any permanent marking to be set or made in the concrete shall be made with an approved stencil in the <br /> appropriate location. All temporary markings shall be removed after completion of the project. <br /> 1.15 DAMAGE <br /> A. Damage to existing structures, facilities, utilities, trees, lawns, shrubs, pavements, or other property <br /> caused by the Contractor shall be restored to original condition at the Contractor's expense, prior to final <br /> inspection and acceptance. <br /> 1.16 STAGING AREA, USE OF CITY STREETS, EMPLOYEE PARKING <br /> A. Material storage shall be limited at the construction site to what is needed for two days construction. <br /> B. Contractor shall be responsible for making his own arrangements, for storing excess material and <br /> equipment at an approved storage yard off the City streets. <br /> C. Construction equipment may be stored on the street, but must be moved every two days (48 hours) as <br /> construction progresses. <br /> D. No construction material shall be stored over the weekend unless approved by the project engineer. <br /> E. Sheds or storage containers may be left on the street in one location for no longer than one month. The <br /> engineer shall approve the location(s) for storage. <br /> F. Storage containers and sanitary facilities shall not have graffiti and shall be painted in subdued colors. <br /> G. Reflectors and /or barricades shall be required for all equipment and material left on the street overnight. <br /> H. At the end of the working week, all loose material, parts, and debris must be cleaned up and discarded. <br /> I. Employee parking should be at or near the daily construction area. <br /> 1.17 COMPACTION TESTING <br /> A. Not applicable. <br /> 1.18 STORM WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION <br /> A. The contractor is advised that the City of Redwood City and all other municipal stormwater dischargers in <br /> San Mateo County are co- permittees under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System <br /> (NPDES) Permit Number CA 0029921. This permit prohibits the discharge of illicit discharges (non <br /> rainwater) into the storm drain system, unless specifically exempt. As a condition of this permit the City of <br /> Redwood City and San Mateo County have implemented a local Storm Water Management Plan, <br /> adopted respective enabling ordinances prohibiting illicit discharges, and adopted "Best Management <br /> Practices" (BMPs) to assist contractors and citizens with alternatives. <br /> B. The central goal of the Storm Water Management Plan and BMPs is to reduce the amount of pollution in <br /> run -off and establish procedures to address and control storm water pollution resulting from both public <br /> and private sector construction activity within the City. <br /> C. All work performed under this contract and all contractors and their associates and/or employees are <br /> required to comply with all applicable Storm Water regulations and to implement BMPs at all times. <br /> SPECIAL CONDITIONS 00800 -3 <br /> EMERGENCY VEHCILE PREEMPTION PROJECT 2010 <br />
