They are not
ptiblic roads. The City would like Mark Thomas & Company, Inc, (MTCo) to conduct a field
reconnaissance of the three sites, develop a repair plan for each location, and prepare construction
plans and technical specifications for completing the repairs. The repair work would be considered a
short term repair as a long term repair would require significantly more investigation, study, and
design time to develop.
The repair work would consist primarily of construction of a small retaining- wall and/or minor road
realignment, minor site grading, and Minor drainage improvements at each location. The uttinimum
usable road width to be provided at .each location after repair is 12 .feet. Based on an initial site visit
with the City the assumed repair approach at each of the three locations is as follows:
Location 1 (above picnic area): A small soldier pile wall approximately 120 feet long by
approximately 3 feet of exposed height tail would be constructed to contain the edge of the road above
a steep slope that has been eroding from stormwater runoff. Minor regrading .of the roadway and
minor drainage improvements would be included if feasible to discourage further.erosion.
Location 2 (close to creek cut bank): The road would be widened and realigned:for about:50 feet to. •
move the edge of road fiurther away from the creek cut. bank. The existing storm drain pipe would be
extended uphill from the creek and a new storm drain inlet and feeder pipes :Would be added sunder the
widened road. A large tree may need to be removed to allow for the realignment. Minor dissipation
improvements would be added at the oulvert otrtfall if feasible to reduce erosion impacts on creek
batik.
Location 3 (on top of hill) : A small Keystone type passive earth retaining wall approximately 80 feet
long by approximately 4 feet of exposed 'height tall would be constructed on the downhill side of the
618 Walnut Street, Suite 204 San Carlos, GA 94070
v,ww.marklhomos.com Tel: (650) 363.8277 Fax: 1650) 363.8279 •
