Staff attributes this variance to a favorable bidding ' <br /> climate. Based on the bids received, staff believes that the low bid of $513,680.00.00 is <br /> reasonable and responsive, and recommends awarding the contract to Conco-West Inc. <br /> Construction is expected to begin next month and conclude within 210 calendar days. <br /> The city will give notice to all residents and businesses that might be affected by the <br /> construction. Additionally, the contractor is obligated to provide notice to area residents i <br /> and businesses two weeks prior to the start of work. Construction updates will be � <br /> available on the city's website. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> Council may choose not to award the contract and request staff to reject all bids, <br /> redesign and/or offer this project again for public bid, or delay award to this project until <br /> next fiscal year. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> Funds fo� these pump station improvements were approved and appropriated in the <br /> Fiscal Year 2010/11 budget, Water Fund Capital Projects -- Glenwood Pump House & <br /> Generatorwhich has an available balance of $728,678.69 as of January 31, 2011. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br /> As the lead agency, City of Redwood City has determined that the Glenwood Pump <br /> Station Improvements Project meets the CEQA exemption criteria as set forth in Section <br /> 15302, ("Replacement or Reconstruction").
