Scope of Services
Project Background
Sanitary Sewer Pump Station 10 is a critical pump station, collecting raw sewerage from several other pump
stations before pumping to the regional wastewater plant. During the past several years, the City has experienced
performance issues at the pump station that have resulted in frequent intermittent failure of station components,
including VFD, Pumps, and PLC, which appear to related to electrical circuitry.
(INVESTIGATION AND REPORT SERVICES
Project Description
The project consists of investigating the electrical, instrumentation, control systems, and PLC programming for
sanitary sewer pump station 10 project, located in Redwood City, California. The goal of this project is to
determine the root causes for the reliability issues experienced by the City and develop a report with
recommendations of corrective actions that will lead to the resolution of these issues.
It is not the intent of this scope of services to detail every action to be taken in the process of resolving these
reliability issues. The development of the actions necessary to resolve these issues will occur as more information
about Pump Station 10 becomes available. This information will include drawings, manuals, correspondence,
maintenance records, City /Contractor input at the Initial Discovery Meeting, and information gained from the Site
Assessment. The roadmap leading to resolution of these issues will be a work in progress that will undergo course
corrections as we discover additional information about Pump Station 10. We will start this project with a general
plan of action that will become more specific as new information is discovered.
2010.11.1427 Redwood City Station 10 -Revs
- 6enfidential— Summary Page 2 of 7
