EXHIBIT "A"
Scope of Work
Redwood City Urban Water Management Plan Engineering
Support Services
Redwood City is embarking on an update of their Urban Water Management Plan
(UWMP) using a combination of in -house and consultant resources. This Scope of Work
is for engineering support to provide input to the UWMP in the areas of wastewater and
recycled water. The Scope of Work is anticipated to be performed over a four month
period, and includes a number of discrete tasks as described below:
Task 1: Project Management and Administration
Project management includes:
• Project setup, subconsultant contracts (if applicable) and ongoing team
coordination
• Monthly invoices and project status reports (4 each)
• Attendance at project team meetings (up to two team members over 4 meetings,
as requested by City)
Task 2: UWMP Support — Wastewater System Information
Subtask 2.1: Wastewater Collection & Treatment Systems
This task will utilize information provided by City staff, SBSA & other consultants
regarding wastewater collection & treatment systems (current and future projections).
Coordination with SBSA, the only wastewater treatment agency in the City's service
area, will be necessary to complete this task. Our level of effort assumes that information
is readily available from the 2005 UWMP, SBSA and the City, including maps, facilities
descriptions, etc.
This subtask will address Item #45 of the UWMP Guidelines Checklist and
Recommended UWMP Data Table 21 as described below. [All tables are provided as an
attachment to this Scope of Services]
#45 Describe the wastewater collection and treatment systems in the supplier's service area, including
a quantification of the amount of wastewater collected and treated and the methods of wastewater
disposal (10633(a)).
a) Contact the owners and operators of each wastewater collection and treatment systems in
the supplier's service area regarding the amount of wastewater collected and treated by
each facility and the type of treatment processes used (Table 21). If multiple wastewater
facilities exist, provide the required information for each facility.
Subtask 2.2: Wastewater /Recycled Water Quantity Available
This task will utilize information provided by City staff, SBSA & other consultants
regarding wastewater disposal and capacity of the existing recycled water treatment
facilities (current and future projections). Coordination with SBSA, the only wastewater
treatment agency in the City's service area, will be necessary to complete this task. Our
level of effort is based on the assumption that the capacity assessment work is being
done in conjunction with the City's environmental review of the proposed Saltworks
development, and it will be available.
10 of 15 3/22/2011
