Schedule a public hearing and second reading on adoption of the building <br /> codes ordinance for January 24, 2011. <br /> Mr. LaTorra, Building Inspection Manager, introduced Fire Chief Skinner and Fire <br /> Marshall Palisi. Mr. LaTorra spoke on various building code requirements and said that <br /> the only changes this year relate to s#ate mandates. These included the enforcement of <br /> the international residential code, sprinkiers required in residences (which the ciiy has <br /> already required for many years), and defining what is a new building. He said the sta#e <br /> of Califomia adopted a green building code and the mandated enforcement date is <br /> January 1, 2011.
