Public Hearing Regarding Conveyance of 1'Wide Strips alon8 Chemical Way and Maple Street in Accordanae with the Memarandum of U�ders#anding Regarding Replacement Jail Facilities Be�inreen the City and County of San Mateo. Ms. Thompson, City Attorney, explained that the City is proposing ta transfer certain one foot wide strips of property that ftont 20 and 80 Chemica[ Way and that is belongs ta the City. TMe City is proposing to trartsfer the property to the Redevelopment Agency (RDA), the RDA can then, using its speciaf powers, convey the property to the County in order to prevent blight that the City believes would be associated with the potential jail site in downtown Redwood City. She explained the specific conditions r+eiated to the conveyance of the property. She reviewed the recommendations, proposed resolutions, and added #he amendment that the City Manager be given the authority to execute any documents, subject to City Attomey review and that the City Manager be autharized to waive certain of the conditions cantained in the MOU if necessary to effectuate the purposes of the agreement.
