I I . A-I I
Le$islattve Bill Action
juvenile adjudicated of specified offenses from
possessing a firearm until the age of 30, or for 10
year s after release from the custody and control of
the juvenile court, whichever date is later. AB 131
also reouires the juvenile court to notify the Depart-
ment of Justice (DOJ) when a juvenile, subject to
the firearms prohibition, is released from the
jurisdiction of the juvenile court. According to the
author, "This bill ensures that the current prohibi-
tion on owning or possessing a firearm is imposed
for a significant amount of time and with greater
uniformity. AB 1315 accomplishes this by requiring
that the prohibition applies until the juvenile of-
fender is 30 years of age or 10 years have elapsed
from the release from custody, whichever is
greater."
