7.2- 1� ?/P <br />to achieve parity between the benefits agreed to be provided under the major <br />medical plans and the benefits provided under any federal or state plan as <br />supplemented in the manner hereinabove described. In no ovent shall the City <br />required to expend for such purposes an amount which, wizen added to the <br />contributions or taxes required of the City under the federal or state act, shall <br />exceed the amounts paid at the time such legislation becomes effective. <br />If the benefits provided under the federal or state act exceed the benefits <br />provided hereunder in each category of coverage, the City shall be under no <br />further obligation to make any contributions. <br />The City intends to evaluate the hospital - medical, life insurance, and dental <br />plans which are currently available to employees. In the event that it may be <br />possible to provide hospital - medical, life insurance and dental coverage as <br />nearly comparable as possible to the benefits in effect on November 1, 1980, <br />without additional cost to the City or the employees, the City may substitute <br />new insurance carriers. The Association will be given an opportunity to review <br />the coverage afforded under such substitute plans before they are <br />implemented. <br />The City and RCPOA agree that in the event state or federal law changes to the <br />extent that mandates are placed on the City or the level of benefits changes <br />during the term of this MOU, the parties agree to reopen the MOU to meet and <br />confer over such changes or mandates, if either party requests to do so. <br />10.3 Dental <br />The City shall continue to provide to eligible employees and dependents fully <br />paid dental insurance through Delta Dental Fee for Service program or through <br />a mutually agreed upon alternative program through the term of this <br />Agreement. <br />10.4 Life Insurance <br />The City shall continue to offer to eligible employees the life insurance <br />program in effect on February 1, 1974. <br />10.5 Lone Term Disabilltv Insurance <br />Effective with the first full pay period after the adoption by the City Council <br />of the Memorandum of Understanding between the POA and the City of <br />Redwood City, the City will reimburse $19.50 per month, per employee <br />towards the cost of Long Term Disability. <br />In the event the cost of the current Long Term Disability plan increases during <br />the term of this Memorandum of Understanding, the City will reimburse the. <br />242 <br />26 <br />
