• <br /> • <br /> [a] Grading on land with a slope of less than ten <br /> percent, except where such grading is conducted <br /> in a waterway, wetland, officially designated <br /> (by Federal, State or local governmental action) <br /> scenic area, or in officially mapped areas of <br /> severe geologic hazard; <br /> [b] New gardening or landscaping, but not including <br /> tree removal; <br /> [c] Filling of earth into previously excavated <br /> land with material compatible with the natural <br /> features of the site; <br /> [d] Minor alterations in land, water and vegetation <br /> on existing officially designated wildlife <br /> management areas or fish production facilities <br /> which result in improvement of habitat for fish <br /> and wildlife resources or greater fish production; <br /> [e] Minor temporary uses of land having negligible <br /> or not permanent effects on the environment, <br /> including carnivals , temporary fireworks sales, <br /> sales of Christmas trees, and similar and like <br /> activities; <br /> [f] Minor trenching and backfilling, provided that <br /> upon completion of such work, the surface of the <br /> land is restored to a condition substantially <br /> similar to that prior to the excavation; <br /> [g] Maintenance dredging where the spoils are deposited <br /> in a spoil area authorized by applicable local, <br /> State and Federal regulatory agencies. <br /> " (5) Class 5. Alteration and Land Use Limitations. The <br /> following minor alterations and land use limitations, <br /> except zoning: <br /> [a] Minor lot line adjustments, side yard and setback <br /> variances not resulting in the creation of any <br /> new parcel nor in any change in land use or <br /> density; <br /> [b] Issuance of minor encroachment permits. <br /> " (6) Class 6. Information Collection. The following data <br /> collection and research activities : <br /> [a] Monitoring, collecting, and treating of water, <br /> sanitary sewerage, mineral, and atmospheric <br /> samples in connection with the operation of the <br /> City' s sanitary sewerage system; <br /> [b] Monitoring, collecting, and testing of fresh <br /> water samples or other matters in connection with <br /> the operation of the City' s domestic water system; <br /> [c] Basic data collection, research, experimental <br /> management and resource evaluation activities <br /> -10- <br />
