CHAPTER 15 CHAPTER 15 <br />Sections <br />CHANGES IN BOUNDARIES <br />1501 Annexation. The city may annex lands to a district or <br />to an improvement district formed pursuant to the ordinance. <br />1502 Joint Annexation. Land may be annexed to a district <br />and to an improvement district in the same proceedings. <br />1503 Petition. Annexation proceedings may be instituted by <br />a petition which shall: <br />(a) District. State the title and number of the dis- <br />trict and improvement district to which it is to be annexed. <br />(b) Territory. Describe the lands to be annexed. <br />(c) Prayer.. Request that the lands be annexed. <br />(d) Indebtedness. State whether said lands shall be <br />subject to taxation for any district bonds or <br />improvement district bonds then outstanding or <br />authorized. <br />(e) Signatories. Be signed by either: <br />1. Electors. A majority in number of the registered <br />electors therein, or <br />2. Owners. The owners of at least 51% of the assess- <br />ed value (as shown on the assessment roll) of <br />the lands to be annexed. <br />1504 Certification. The clerk shall check and certify as to <br />the sufficiency of the signatures to the petition. <br />1505 Setting Hearing,. If the council finds that the petition <br />is sufficient, it may adopt a resolution which shall contain: <br />(a) Petition. A statement that a petition for annexation <br />of land has been presented to it. <br />(b) District. State the title and number of the district <br />and improvement district to which it is to be annexed. <br />01103 <br />
