9.8 -6 <br />Exhibit A <br />Pr000sed Amendment: <br />Section 17. PLANNING <br />I <br />There shall be a city planning commission, which shall consist of seven members, who <br />shall be appointed by the Council, to serve for three (3) years each, without compensation, <br />none of whom shall hold any other public office or position in the city. All members of the <br />commission shall, at the time of their appointments and continuously during their <br />incumbencies, be residents and electors of the City. The commission shall elect its <br />chairperson from among its members. Neither the City Attorney, the Planning Director <br />nor any deputy or assistant of either of them, shall have the right to vote or enter into <br />deliberations but shall be present in an advisory capacity only. <br />F: /Atty /Memos / /Agenda Charter Amendments q <br />
