Councilman Britschgi <br /> moved that the permit be granted subject to usual requirements, seccr ded by Council- <br /> man Jones and carried. <br /> INTRODUCE ORDINANCE AMENDING ANIMAL & FOWL ORDINANCE EXEMPTING HOMING PIGEONS. City <br /> Attorney advised the Council that this ordinance would provide that it is lawful <br /> for any person to have not more than 50 pigeons, racing or homing, at any one place <br /> in the City of Redwood City, provided all the provisions of Section II of this <br /> Ordinance are complied with. Councilman Britschgi introduced amendment to the <br /> Animal & Fowl Ordinance. Councilman Granger requested informatioh regarding the <br /> hours that these pigeons should be allowed out of their coops. <br /> Dr. Bay Miller of San Carlos appeared stating that there is definitely a time that <br /> the pigeons should be allowed out of their coops, and the hours should be to 10:00 A M. <br /> and from 4 :00 P.M. until dark. He stated that the desire of pigeon owners is to train <br /> the pigeons and not have them all over the neighborhood. He also requested that the <br /> Ordinance provide for not more than 50 female pigeons, and not more than 75 pigeons <br /> at any one time. Councilman Royer moved that the City Attorney be instructed to pre- <br /> pare an ordinance providing for the hours from dawn to 10:00 A.M. and from 4:00 P.M. <br /> until dark, also that no more than 50 pigeons should be maintained at any one time, <br /> seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br /> AUTHORIZE CITY CLERK ACCEPT DEEDS IN CONNECTION WITH WOODSIDE TERRACE NO. 6. Councilman <br /> Britschgi moved authorization that City Clerk accept the deeds, seconded by Council- <br /> man Jones and carried. <br /> T. TUITE JR., COMMENTS ON SUBIDIVIONS AND ANNEXATIONS. Letter from Mr. Tuite in which he <br /> proposed charging new subdivisions and annexed areas with some of the costs of <br /> capital expenditures and services, such as sewer and flood control, police and fire <br /> service, etc., as is being done in other cities. He suggested an amendment to the <br /> subdivision ordinance fixing a set fee per lot and per area. <br /> Couricilman Britschgi suggested this matter should have quite a bit of thinking and <br /> it would be a good subject to present to the League of California Cities for dis- <br /> cussion at the coming convention in October. He suggested that the City Manager send <br /> Mr. Tuite's letter to the League of California Cities in Berkeley asking that they <br /> include it in the objects for discussion at their meeting, seconded by Councilman <br /> Jones. Councilman Royer stated that the City Manager should request any information <br /> that the League might have on this subject. Mayor Herkner stated that this should <br /> be taken up at the next study meeting. Councilman Jones stated that this should be <br /> referred to the Planning Commission. <br /> Mr. Tuite appeared appealing that the Council act on this right now; that surrounding <br /> cities are taking steps in the same situation and Redwood City should do something <br /> about it before it is too late. <br /> Councilman Granger suggested that this be referred to the Planning Commission for <br /> study and recommendatton in addition to what the Council can agree to. <br />
