The <br /> Clerk read a letter of protest fromthe Peninsula Civic League, Inc. in which they <br /> stated that relief could be provided for the Planning Commission in more constructive <br /> ways than the adoption of this amendment to Ordinance No. 600 and urged its defeat. <br /> Councilman Jones stated that this has been discussed by the Planning Commission and the <br /> Council and both were in agreement. There was only one protest. Councilman Jones <br /> moved that the public hearing be closed. Mayor Herkner explained that this merely <br /> reduced the Planning Commission hearings by one. Additional hearings still had to come <br /> up before the Council.
