The Clerk. read the letter <br /> from Perry & Son in.w.hich. they submitted.a.bid.on.the,...195.6 -Weed Abatement Program also an <br /> option on the contracts for 1957 -58. The terms.of the bid will be the same as for 1955 <br /> contract. for .the Weed. Abatement .program_ with an added. clause; that if a third discing is <br /> needed, it will _be included at_ the same. price. as. for two discings under the 1955 contract,. <br /> Councilman Britschgi moved.. that.this.letter be turned over to the Weed Abatement Committee <br /> and report back next meeting, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS REQUEST CANCELLATION OF TAXES ON FOUR FREEWAY PARCELS. Councilman Brits- <br /> chgi moved approval of cancellation of taxes on the four freeway parcels, seconded by <br /> Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> AUTHORIZING.RENUMBERING BUILDINGS ON BAY ROAD AND SPRING BETWEEN CHESTNUT AND SECOND AVENUE TO <br /> TIE IN WITH NUMBERS IN COUNTY AREA. Councilman Granger moved acceptance. of the recommen- <br /> dations of the Department. Heads seconded by. Councilman._ Jones and carried. <br /> Mr. Treichel . brought up ..the_ matter . of. possibility of plate . glass..and. double _acting door at the <br /> sidewalk...into. the Perry .Street Parking Lot... The..Fi.re Department and..the Building Depart- <br /> ment have no obJections..,.. Councilman.Spillers moved that. this be granted providing that <br /> it meets the.building code, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. City Attorney Currie stated <br /> tha it does violate the_building.c.ode and that was why it was brought before the Council. <br /> This. could not happen if the parking lot. was not there. If a building. was there then <br /> this could not be done because of the Fire and Building Code. Councilman Granger stated <br /> that the existing. agreement could be amended to include a recess door. City Attorney <br /> stated that he_did not think this..would be necessary as the agreement is in good, standing, <br /> and be was of the opinion that a letter. would be agreeable and should be attached to the <br /> agreement. Motion carried. <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS, CITY COUNCIL AND DEPARTMENT HEADS: <br /> Councilman .Br.itschgi.stated..that.an. agreement_ had been niade. with Mrs. Dell'Ergo in regard to <br /> building . of _Mr... Greco., Main Street.... . T.his. ahould __be made... a ..part. of the _public, record as <br /> . to why this . was done. It should. include the ..recommenda,tians. of the Fire Chief and the <br /> Building Inspector. who were.against any improvements. or making temporary improvements and <br /> the Council reached an agreement with the Attorney that the structure be made weatherproof <br /> on a temporary basis. and.could be removed at any .time._ It should. be made a part of the <br /> record that these_.are.only.tempo.rar..y improvements and could be turned down at any time. <br /> This is for an indefinite period.
