� 7 <br /> Councilman Britschgi asked that the Building Inspector take special notice of car parking <br /> - facilities and driveways in re�ard to apertment house plans. This was followed by <br /> discussion. Mayor Herkner asked the City Manager to take cognizance of thj.s. <br /> 'Councilman Britschgi asked the Mayor to put on the Sudy Agenda consideration of consolidation <br /> of Cities of San Garlos, Bel�ont and Redwood City. <br /> �""' �ouncilman Granger asked if the tree in the Arch Street area wi1Z be decorated for Christma�. <br /> k <br /> �rr City Manager Rolison reported that steps have been taken to have the t ree decorated. <br /> Councilman Royer moved that the Council go on record of backing the Northern California State <br /> Softball .�ssociation Tournament to t he sum of �p1,000 with the understanding that the <br /> County put up a like amount, the City Clerk to write a letter to the County Supervisors, <br /> � <br /> � return proceeds to be divided 50-50 between the City and the County. , This was followed by <br /> discussion. Napa has had the last three tournaments and they made $�269.00 profit. Even <br /> if the City broke even this would be good ad�ertising. The City Attorney was asked to <br /> rule if the City could legally sponor the event. Councilman Granger stated that this is <br /> advertising and should be turned over to the Chamber of Commerce. ', <br /> Councilman Granger was of the opinion that the motion should be that the ��ouncil looks ' <br /> favorably on sponsoring this tournament and a letter be written to the County. Council - I'', <br /> man Royer made this a part of his motion which was seconded by Councilman Stout. Council- I <br /> man Royer added to the motion that the City Manager look into the matter ,of availability ' <br /> of funds. Motion carried. <br /> Assistant City Attorney Lebsack stated that in accordance with the Council's wishes he had ' <br /> i <br /> investigated the records in regard to the Redwood Diner. It appears that a revocable , <br /> permit or license was granted and that said license could be revoked by the City Council �, <br /> six months after cessation of hostilities of World War II, therefore it a.ppears that the ! <br /> Council can revoke the permit. Councilman Granger moved that the permit be revoked, <br /> seconded by �ouncilman Britsch$i and carried. ' <br /> Assistant City Attorney Lebsack stated that he had copies of the proposed ordinance establish- i <br /> ing the Veterans� Memorial Commission defining the powers and duties of its members. ', <br /> It was decided that the Council would look over the proposed ordinance and that this be ' <br /> carried on the a�enda for one week. <br /> Assistant City Attorney Lebsack stated that he had prepared an ordinance fixing the fire zone <br /> in Redwood City of Hills Knowles Area and Williama Territory. Councilman Granger offered <br /> introduction of ordinance, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> City Manager Rolison stated that the City Attorney had prepared letters for signature of Mr. ', <br /> Fontana and Mr. Frank for the use of their property for a parking lot. Councilman <br /> Gran�er moved that the City Manager by authorized to si�n the letters, seconded by , <br /> Councilman Royer and carried. ', <br /> Progress Payment #3 to James A. Hutzler Construction Co. in the amount of- �20,899.22 for the ' <br /> Veterans Memorial Building was ordered paid on mQtion of Councilman Stout, seconded by <br /> �,."' <br /> _ Councilman Brits�hgi and carried. <br /> � <br /> Letter from the Standard Oi1 Company was read by the Clerk in which they atated t hat every <br /> effort is b ein� made to comply with provisions of the permit for a sewer line to the Main <br /> Street and Bayshore Highway service station. Barring rain and unf'orseen circumstances <br /> the �ob should be completed before the stipulated date of November 30, �955• However, ' <br /> rain, together with the discovery of a live street lighting circuit in the area proposed �'�, <br /> � <br /> �� �-� <br />
