Affidavit of mailing was ordered filed. <br /> There rvere no written protests. Mr. Harry E. Smith, representing 14�r. Lindgren, spoke <br /> in favor of his clientts resubdivision. fHe stated that there was 16,000 square feet in <br /> , the lot in question. If allowed to split- the lot, one lot would have 7,800 square feet <br /> and the other lo� would have 8,100 square feet. He stated that Edgewood &Ianor had been <br /> � granted a simila.r subdivisi.on some tirr�e ago. Ir� his opinion, it rva�s not feaseble to <br /> build one house on lfi,000 square feet of ground. Mr. ` �mith stated that at the time of <br /> the Planning Commission hearing a petition with 24 signatures approving the resubdiviaion <br /> � ' had been presented: This was confirmed by Planning Commissioner Greenwold who was in <br /> � the audience. The petition, however, was not at hand. Vifalter �urphy, North Redwood , <br /> Neighbors, had presen�ed peti�ion to the Planning Commission protesting any lot split on <br /> this pieee of property. Leonard MeCarthy and b�rs. Gus Mullen both spoke in favor of the ' <br /> lot split. Park Q. Wray, Mr. Van Way and Ralph E. Burhart all opposed the resubdivision. I, <br /> This was followed b� a lengthy discussion. Councilman Britschgi was of the opinion that <br /> the position of the two driveways en�ering Edgewood Road might prove to be a traffic , <br /> hazard as they would be backing out on a possible blind curve. He w as of the opinion ', <br /> that the plans cou].d possibly be changed so that the drive�rays would be on Stratford ' <br /> Street. � ` ' <br /> Couneilman Granger wanted to know what the Council intended to do with the property ' <br /> � across the street from Nir. Lindgren�s property. He stated that before he takes any <br /> action on the property in ques�ion he wants to know what the Council plans to do with the <br /> � old Weller property. This was f'ollowed by diacussion, �fter`�vhich another discussion <br /> � <br /> took place in regard to splitting the lots so they would face on Stratford Street rather ' <br /> than Edgewood Road. . <br /> The Clerk was asked to read �he Planning Cor�nission�s recommendation. Planning Commiss- , <br /> ioner Greenwold stated the Planning Commission�s thinking in the matter. One of the ' <br /> problems facing the Commiasion was where the line should be drawn for eutting and <br /> splitting lots on Edgewood Road. This was followed b� a lengthy discussion after which ' <br /> Councilman Britschgi asked Dar. Smith bring in plot plans next Council meeting showing the ; <br /> • plana vui�h the houses facing on S�ratford Street. Councilman Stout moved that the public ''; <br /> hearing be continued for two weeks and the party bring in a plot plan showing the prop- <br /> " erty facing on Stratford Street, seconded by Councilman Britschgi who asked that Mr. <br /> Smith bring in plans showir�g the` houses facing on Stratford Street and one plan showing '', <br /> !!'"'" one house facing on Stratford Street and one facing on Edgewood Road.
