G' � Building Inspector Kreiss stated that Mr. Jain should report on the status of tivhether the future street ; wid_ening will he considered at a later date even though the plan lines have been set. City Engineer Jain i was of the opinion that the State will probably want 100' rather than the 80' �.•r�:ich is set at the present time. Counci]lnan t�ritschgi wanted to place this on the agenda for the first meeting in March� hawever, b'Ir. Jain �'"" stated that he didN't believe this would be reac�y by the State at that time. This was f ollowed by �rrr discussion in regard to possible construction of building in the near future. Councilman Britschgi was of the opinion that this should be turned back to the Planning Cammission for revision if the State was going to ask f or 100' rather than 80'. Councilman Granger w as of the opinion that the needed property could be taken from one side oi the street rather than 1>oth sides. This was fo3lc�wed by discussion in regard to �„" � where the rightr-of–ways should be taken. Councilman Gran�er moved that this matter be referred t o the Planning Commission� seonded by Councilman Britschgi. A1Ir. Tuite asked that Council to ask the Planning Commission to consider the full length rather than just a portion o£ the street. Motion carried. . RESOLUTION AP:�NDING RESOLUTION SETTING DATE FOR BOND BIDS� PARKING DISTRICT #l. City Attorney Currie stated ' that the first bid opening date was set f or January 3rd� hawever, the bond companies have advised that this ' would not be a good date f or opening the bids and the City wauld receive better hids from the bond houses ', if the date v�rere set f or January lbth. The following report vras read ' by the City Clerk: ' � "On October 17, 1955, the City Council authorized the preparation of plans and s�peci.fications, � and formation of an assessment district for complete street improvements on portions of Manaanita. Street, Laurel Street, and Hilton Street. Since that time we have received a petition from all awners of property on Manaanita Street between Heller Street and Middlefield Road requesti.ng similar impr�vements. �, S & tiY Fine Foods� Incorporated� have si�ned this petition, and have further approved in writing the construction of an additional two inches of crusher–run rock base under the pavement in this block in order to more adequately handle the trucking which they anticipate into the plant.
