Councilman Britschgi brought up the matter of all the stop signs already on i3radford Street. Police Chief Faulstich stated the situation as it appears from a traffic standpoint. ', Councilman Spillers recommended that a full report be made on Industrial Way. City Attorney Currie stated that this matter w ill be tried in Court in February and a legal answer should be made by the first of l�arch. ' Councilman Spillers left the meeting at 10:12 ��.m.. ' The Clerk read the f ollawing letter: , '�The matter referred to the Traffic Fact Finding Conmii.ttee re�arding the possible abondonment of existing plan lines at El Camino Real and !�h.ipple Avenue was- I discussed at the meeting on this date. � , It has been suggested that plan lines on the north west corner be discarded in , � favor of acquiring property on the south—east corner of the intersection for the eventual improvement. However, it should be pointed out that in order to make improvement at this location, property that is presently improved would have to be purchased; the railroad crossing, including signali�ation, would have to be �' re—located; and, more than one parcel of property would have to be acquired, � which in the opinion of this Committee� would make the improvement prohibitive from the cost standpoint. It is the recommendation of this Committee that the existing plan lines on the north—west corner of E1 Camino Real and Vdhipple Avenue be retai�ed and it is strongly recommended that the property involved be purchased as soon as possible for the improvement of this intersection.�r � Councilman Jones moved acceptance of report� seconded by Councilman Granger. On the auestion Councilman � Granger asked if anyone had written to t he State in regard to this matter. City Engineer Jain stated that the State isn't interested in this as it is only a City matter. Chief Faulstich stated that the only ' problem here is the cross traffic on El Camino Real. This was f ollowed by discussion. �Councilman Britschgi was of the opinion that the plan lines at the present ti.me takes too much of this useable property and it is a very valuable corner.
