Motion on the amendment to hold off for two weeks <br /> carried. City Attorney Currie called attention to the hazardous condition of the poles on <br /> El Camino Real, after which Councilman Royer moved that request for 120 days permit be grant <br /> ed. Motion was seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br /> PETITION FOR IMPROVEMENT EBENER, POPLAR AND HESS ROAD. Mr. Kupfer appeared and stated that there <br /> was a petition for the improvements about a year ago and they could not get the necessary <br /> 'signatures. Councilman Britschgi moved that this be turned over to the Real Estate Commit- <br /> tee and report back in one week. Motion was lost for lack of a second. Councilman Spil- <br /> lers suggested that the petition be sent back to the property owners and an effort be <br /> made to continue Ebener Street to Woodside Road. Mr. Wm. Phoenix stated that he tried <br /> this and was not able to secure enough signatures. Letter from M. D. McCarl, Manager <br /> of the Port of Redwood City, was read and ordered filed. Councilman Spillers moved that <br /> this be referred to the Yacht Harbor Committee, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY REPORT ON COUNCIL JURISDICTION ON ISSUANCE OF USE PERMITS. Councilman Granger <br /> would like to see the ordinance which brought about the use permit amended and make ex- <br /> ceptions requiring that permits for certain items be approved by the City Council. Coun- <br /> cilman Britschgi moved that this be referred to the City Attorney to clear up. There was <br /> no second on this motion. City Attorney suggested that a committee of council members be <br /> appointed to go over the ordinance and make recommendation in two weeks. Councilman <br /> Granger so moved, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. Mayor Herkner appointed Coun- <br /> cilman Granger as Chairman of the Committee and Councilman Stout to work on this. <br /> CITY ENGINEER JAIN RECOMMENDED ACCEPTANCE OF STERLING HEIGHTS NO. 1. Subject to the following <br /> conditions: <br /> 1. Correction of all defects in materials and workmanship which might appear <br /> within one year from this date. <br /> 2.
