7 <br /> 2v � I <br /> CITY ENGINEER JAIN RECOMMENDED ACCEPTANCE OF STERLING HEIGHTS NO. 2. Subject to the following <br /> conditions: <br /> 1. Correction of all defects in materials and workmanship which might appear <br /> within one year from this date. <br /> 2. Payment by the subdivider of all engineering and inspection charges due <br /> the City, before release of the performance bond. <br /> Councilman Spillers moved the recommendation of the City Engineer be accepted, seconded by <br /> Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS: DEPARTMENT HEADS AND COUNCILMEN. <br /> COUNCILMAN JONES MOVED THAT THE CITY MANAGER WRITE A LETTER TO THE COUNTY MANAGER REGARDING <br /> THE DOG POUND, explaining that we have no objection to them delegating the control of <br /> the Pound operation to the SPCA without further cost to the City, seconded by Councilman <br /> Granger and carried. Councilman Spillers mentioned that he had visited the Pound and <br /> that everything is in good shape. <br /> COUNCILMAN STOUT COMMENTED ON THE BENCH IN FRONT OF THE CITY HALL AND WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE <br /> COUNCIL AUTHORIZE THE PARK DEPARTMENT TO MAKE SOME MORE OF THEM to spot at the different <br /> places in the City and in the parks where they are needed. Councilman Britschgi suggested <br /> that a committee write a letter to groups and service clubs who might be interested in <br /> donating one or more benches at a cost of $22.00 to $25.00. The name of the organization <br /> or club will be displayed on the bench. Councilman Granger moved that the City Clerk be <br /> directed to write a letter to all Clubs asking if they will donate park benches at a cost <br /> not to exceed $25.00 (refer to the bench at the City Hall), seconded by Councilman Royer <br /> and carried. Councilman Stout moved that the Park and Recreation Commission be requested <br /> to make a recommendation to the City Council as to the number and location of these benches <br /> in the parks, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMIENDATIONS: <br /> APPROVAL APPLICATION OF R. RODENBAUGH FOR VARIANCE TO ALLOW THREE (3) FEET SIDE YARD ON INTERIOR <br /> AND EIGHT(8) JEJT SIDE YARD ON STREET SIDE OF CORNER LOT ON PORTION OF LOT 1, BLOCK 8, <br /> KENSINGTON (Jefferson and Oakridge). Letter from the Planning Commission read and ordered <br /> filed. RESOLUTION 1834 offered by Councilman Spillers that the recommendation of the Plan- <br /> ning Commission be approved and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried <br /> on roll call. <br /> APPROVAL APPLICATION LAND DEVELOPMENT CO. TO REZONE LOT 12, BLOCK 1, TERRACE SHOPPING CENTER, <br /> (3000 Block Kentucky) FROM R -2 TO R -4. Councilman Spillers moved that this be set for <br /> public hearing in two weeks, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> APPROVAL RESUBDIVISION OF LOTS 19 AND 20 PELLARIN COURT (1129 Adams) INTO A SINGLE BUILDING SITE. <br /> Councilman Britschgi moved the recommendation of the Planning Commission be approved and <br /> seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br /> APPROVAL APPLICATION OF L. E. WHITTON FOR RESUBDIVISION OF PORTION OF LOT 7, BLOCK C, WOODSIDE <br /> ACRES NO. 1, INTO TWO LOTS, one 40' frontage and one 90' frontage on Palm at Oxford. Mr. <br /> L. Whitton owner of 1462 Oxford, appeared to make a personal appeal. Councilman Spillers <br /> moved the recommendation of the Planning Commission be approved, seconded by Councilman <br /> Jones and carried. <br /> APPROVAL OF APPLICATION OF R. DeLUCCHI TO ABANDON SIX (6) FOOT PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT ON BLOCK <br /> 5, FRIENDLY ACRES between Florence and Railroad tracks, subject to granting six (6) foot <br /> easement on rear of property. Councilman Spillers moved that the recommendation of the <br /> Planning Commission be approved, seconded by Councilman Granger.and carried. Councilman <br />
