PROPERTY (Roosevelt and <br /> Upton Streets.) Affidavit of mailing was ordered filed. Mayor Herkner announced the open- <br /> ing of public hearing. Mr. John R. Houghton, 903 Upton Street, appeared representing the <br /> residents in that area. Mr. Houghton stated the residents were not protesting the rezon- <br /> ing, but were definitely interested in knowing the type of buildings and stores intended, <br /> and also wanted to be assured that the parking areas as shown on the map would be reserved <br /> for no other use. There being no further protests, written or oral, Councilman Jones moved <br /> close of hearing, seconded by Councilman Stout. Mr. Gerald Wagstaff, Attorney for Land <br /> Development, explained the changes in the original map which consisted of shifting the <br /> buildings from the front to rear and parking to the front. This method will allow better <br /> circulation of traffic and result in less confusion in the handling of traffic. Mr. Leo - <br /> nard Tornell appeared requesting information as to architecture of the buildings. Mr. <br /> James Burns, 935 Upton Street, protested traffic hazard on Upton Street causing danger to <br /> school children enroute to Roosevelt School. He was informed the area was zoned for com- <br /> mercial before the school was located in its present location. Mr. Matt Landis assured <br /> the Council that the plan as outlined on the map would be followed faithfully. Councilman <br />
