Councilman Spillers moved that public hear- <br /> ing be set for April 25, 1955, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> APPROVAL APPLICATION CARL FRITSCHEN RESUBDIVIDE PORTION LOT 1, BLOCK 10, OAK KNOLL MANOR (Brews- <br /> ter and Hillview), into two lots standard size. Councilman Spillers moved that recommen- <br /> dation of Planning Commission be approved, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br /> II APPROVAL ANNEXATION PETITION OAK KNOLL DRIVE AND HILLCREST, GEORGE WINNER PETITION. Planning <br /> Commission's letter recommending annexation subject to petitioner waiving any demands for <br /> sewer and water facilities was read. City Attorney Currie informed the council that a <br /> letter signed by petitioners should be on file stating that they will not make requests <br /> for such facilities until they are made available in that area. Councilman Royer moved <br /> that this matter be referred to City Attorney for report back next week, seconded by Coun- <br /> cilman Stout. Councilman Granger requested that the Fire Department check in to this mat- <br /> ter also, which request was added to the original motion which carried. <br /> DENIAL APPLICATION CATTICH & MALTZER RESUBDIVIDE LOT 8, BLOCK 9, SUB. A, WELLESLEY PARK into <br /> two lots. Large protest by petition. A petition containing forty signatures of residents <br /> and property owners protesting this resubdivision was presented to the Council. Council- <br /> man Spillers moved that the Planning Commission's recommendation be approved, seconded by <br /> Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br /> DENIAL DUE TO LACK OF 2/3 VOTE, TO ALLOW CORA BELLE HERMAN REZONE LOT 2, BLOCK 7, REDWOOD HIGH- <br /> LANDS R -1 TO R -3 (Elwood and Broadway). Several protests. Commission vote was 3 to 2 in <br /> favor. Councilman Stout moved that this be set for public hearing on May 2, 1955, second- <br /> ed by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> RECOMMEND ALL REQUESTS FOR REZONING ROSENE PROPERTY BE DENIED. Does not favor R -3 for this area. <br /> Councilman Britschgi moved that the Planning Commission's recommendation be approved, secon- <br /> ded by Councilman Jones and carried. Councilman Spillers voting NO. Councilman Royer <br /> stated that he was of the impression that the Planning Commission would approve R -3 and <br /> that was the reason for referring this back to them. Mayor Herkner was in accordance <br /> with Councilman Royer's remarks. <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVAL OF USE PERMITS - The following granting of Use Permits are for <br /> the information of the Council: <br /> Dr. A. S. Fromm for 3 office additions. Lot 19 and 20, BLOCK 5, Redwood Highlands. <br /> 1130 Hopkins Avenue. With 22 off- street parking spaces. <br /> Comar Plastics for establishing plastics processing plant at 545 Standish Street <br /> subject to Fire Department approval and no noxious odors or fumes. <br /> Approve application of Trusty & Kreiss for storage of roofing materials on Block <br /> 40, Eastern Addition (Shasta and Spruce). Subject to: <br /> 1. Sheds being demolished. <br /> 2. Office be cleaned up and painted. No structural changes. <br /> 3. Ten feet to be deeded for street widening on property where <br /> office stands. <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS: COUNCIL AND DEPARTMENT HEADS <br /> II COUNCILMAN SPILLERS BROUGHT UP THE MATTER OF PROPERTY ON PAGE STREET AND 10TH AVENUE WHERE ALL <br /> BUT ONE LOT HAS BEEN SUBDIVIDED. This might be an oversight in not subdividing Lot 13, <br /> Block 4, Friendly Acres upon which the property owner cannot build. The property owner <br /> is anxious to begin building as he already has his FHA loan. This property has never been <br /> subdivided, and in the interest of speeding up the matter, Councilman Granger moved that <br /> there appears to be no objection on the part of any members of the Council and the matter <br /> be laid on the table. Motion lost for want of a second. Councilman Royer then moved that <br /> sees at this time, there appears to be no objections to the property <br /> as far as the Council se a , pp j P P y <br />
